Founder and Principal

Co-Founder and Principal, Chris has more than 30 years of experience in the Information and Communication Technology sector. Prior to forming Genesys Data, Chris was Director of Large and Complex Deals at a major US vendor, leading transformational engagements with strategic Asia Pacific and Japanese customers in the domains of data management, cyber security and networking.

Prior to his Directorship, Chris had a number of roles leading teams, projects and consulting engagements with customers to realise productivity, financial and customer engagement benefits. Specifically, through the secure introduction of new information and communications based technology solutions. Chris originally started his career as a software development engineer.

With the sectors recent move to “all things software and data” Chris’ current interests are ICT strategic planning, enterprise automation, machine learning and advanced cybersecurity techniques with respect to data management, data privacy and security.

Chris holds the CIPM certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and has a Bachelor of Commerce (IT) and a Masters in Business Administration in IT.


Chief Technology Officer

Geoffrey is a Chief Technology Officer and technology executive with more than 26 years of experience guiding enterprise and government organisations to address infrastructure modernisation, data management, privacy, cyber security, governance, and AI challenges. 

Beginning his career in technical engineering, operations and solution delivery, Geoff has progressed through technical management, technology strategy and executive leadership roles. He has worked with some of the world’s largest organisations across financial services, government, healthcare, education and critical infrastructure, helping them modernise cloud, infrastructure and data environments, strengthen cyber resilience, and achieve regulatory compliance. Alongside his executive leadership roles, Geoff has more recently worked with organisations on a fractional and advisory basis, providing guidance to executive teams and boards on technology, governance, risk and digital transformation. Geoff is a skilled presenter, evangelist and communicator, with experience speaking at conferences, industry forums and executive events across Australia and internationally. 

As Chief Technology Officer at Genesys Data, Geoff helps clients gain visibility and control of their information assets, enabling better governance, stronger decision-making, and improved outcomes. He is passionate about developing teams and believes that lasting success comes from the combination of well-governed data, capable people, and effective technology. Geoff maintains that organisations cannot adequately protect, govern, retain, or unlock the value of information they do not first understand. 

Geoff holds a Graduate Certificate in Management and is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He is recognised for translating complex technical, legal and regulatory challenges into clear strategies that reduce risk, strengthen compliance, and enable better decision-making. 


Principal

Mark has more than 30 years of experience in the Information and Communication Technology sector. Prior to forming Genesys Data, Mark was Global Services Sales Director at a major Japanese IT vendor responsible for leading their business transformation from device based to data-driven digital delivery of the same capability – while providing it in a more flexible and cost-effective consumption model.

Throughout his career, Mark had several Sales Leadership and Director roles with ICT vendors, integrators and service providers; hence Mark understands holistically the significance of data management, privacy and data security. He was also Head of Enterprise and Government for a major SP so he understands the client perspective pertaining to the requirements and objectives of these data domains.

Having worked across the ICT industry in leadership, sales and technical roles Mark’s interest is assisting enterprises deal with the challenges that uncontrolled data management, security threats and machine learning bring to clients and how can they first understand, then leverage them for business resilience.

Mark holds an MBA in Finance with the Australian Institute of Business, a Certificate in Company Direction – Institute of Directors and a Certificate in General Management – AGSM, UNSW.
